This just came back to me...

Back when I was a kid, my grandfather bought me a new black Custom. It had something engraved at the 12th fret, I think it said "ANNIVERSARY". Anyway, I put a pair of Duncan Custom Double Creams in there but I didn't like the looks of the Double Cream's against the black body. I did notice that some of my heros had Zebra's which I did like the looks of. So guess what I did? I took the screws out of the "screwed" coil, put a piece of black electrical tape over the "screwed" coil, folded the edges of the tape down over the coil, punched 6 holes through the tape for the screws, then put the screws back in! From a few feet away, nobody ever noticed the black coil was actually taped! That guitar got traded in for a Strat back on '82. I wonder who bought that guitar and what they thought of my "taped" pickups...
