• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Remember these?

I saw Alex Lifeson play one on the Moving Pictures tour. I loved it.

I got one as soon as i could (got mine in 1982).

Cool clip man, really nice sounding guitar.

I'm a huge Lifeson fan myself and I've been wanting a Howard Roberts for many years. It will certainly be my NEXT guitar.

Although I'd like to special order one with nickel hardware and a stopbar - more like the Fusion 2 version.

Thanks for posting that - there's not alot of talk about the HRF around here and I'd like to learn more about it.

Did you know Howard Roberts did the theme for The Munsters, Twilight Zone and I Dream of Jeannie?

Thanks!!!!

Just some wanking-- but the HRFusion is such a great guitar. Easy to play and great sounding.

Thanks for indulging.

Mine is the 1982 model, nickel hardware, TP-6. Super Humbucking in the back, a regular humbucker in front. Wired like a LP-- two volume, two tone.

Maple Laminate. Maple neck. Center block.

Mine has a volute on it.

Didn't know that about Munsters and Dream of Jeannie and Twilight Zone. Wow!!!!!

Cool guitar and the clip! Huge Lifeson fan here too. Does yours have ebony fingerboard? Did they all come with ebony?

Thanks!!!

Yes, I think Ebony is standard for the HR Fusion.

Mine is Ebony. Fireburst finish.

Looks just like Lifeson's. I'm jealous!
I had a chance to buy a clean used one in a cherry sunburst back in '83 or '84 for $500, but I was one day too late... :dang

Of course, I do! I used to go to Chuck's every Saturday back in high school!

Great clips!

Wow. you're so lucky!!!

Venemans and Chucks were always very special trips 'cause I lived 60 miles away.

But what fun. Chucks is still Chucks-- I think Venemans is now Guitar Center.

I bought much gear at both places.

Yeah, all my "work money" during high shool was spent at Chucks! :)
The $500 HR Fusion that I missed out on was at Veneman's old store on Rockville Pike. This was when the first Charvel San Dimas Strats with bare, unfinished maple necks and regular trems (no floyd rose) just came out. Those were the days...

I was actually at the Guitar Center today with my 8 year old son, his first trip into that store. Not my kinda store, but he loved it! :dude:

I got one of the later HRF; a black with gold hardware. Beutiful. The finger tail piece is nice to have: one can adjust the pressure on the bridge and choose if one wants a sustain as from a stopbar (hard pressure), or the more airy style from a trapese (low pressure). I always have it with hard pressure, and the sustain is just incredible in that guitar.

Sweet. I had a chance to trade my PRS goldtop McCarty for an ebony HR about 4 months ago. I needed the money more than the guitar. It had the funky, fingered bridge. If it had a stoptail, I would have made the trade.

I llike that sunburst of yours. :dude:
