• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I think Angus Young helped popularize the SG. He also played Les Pauls and ES 355s.

So what´s your guess on this one?

The black SG is an early 1963, most likely. It originally had a Les Paul TRC.

Angus Young also played a lot of Fender guitars in the early years of AC/DC.

He also played Hagstroms at one point. This is from a show on Christmas Eve in Sydney, 1975.

Also, this picture from December 1977 (left) seems to be the Back in Black Custom, well before it was used on the album. I remember it was in the "Let There be Rock" Concert in Paris in December of 1979, but this is way earlier. And also a photo of Angus playing it when it was all-original (right). Don't know the date unfortunately.
