• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I've never used one, but I'm curious about them. What are they like?

The circuit is identical to a Tweed Bassman 5F6A, except for a few small changes. These changes are four 6L6 output tubes instead of two, a different output transformer and different speakers. So it should sound very similar to a Tweed Bassman, only louder. The tone will obviously be effected by your choice of speakers. Do you really need an 80 watt Tweed Bassman?

It's a much different circuit than the low powered Tweed Twin 5E8A, so it won't sound anything like that amp.
