These days with aged reissues no one would notice. In fact if you had a 300k real burst, you could take it out and folks would think, “nice reissue” if they even noticed. You would be a no greater risk of someone taking it at gunpoint than folks with reissues.Beautiful guitar, awesome!
I've gigged my '55 GT many times since I got it a couple of years ago. I don't remember anyone ever noticing what it is, or asked if it's the real deal Nobody but us cares! I actually prefer it that way, makes it feel safer. Although if someone ever asked about it, it would be nice to talk about these old beauties.
In the late 70’s wen I had my 1958 it was my only guitar. I took it into the ghettos of Chicago for gigs. It was my guitar and that was that.I gig with my 54 GT all the time, and sometimes take my 56 GT. I use a Roadrunner case that makes it less obvious. Not too many people know what they are. Sometimes someone will ask, "is that a Gibson or an Epiphone. LOL
