I have aboot 5 different boutique mods of tweed Bassman types that use different wattages/speaker combos (reverb on a few) and 2 straight tweed Bassman knockoffs, a Clark and a Victoria.

All are wonderful in their own right.

I hear Marshalls are based on the Bassman circuit so I would have to say, "We answered that question years ago".

Edited your post.

Robin Ford's Dumble Overdrive Special was based on his Blackface Bassman amp.

SVT used in the studio for all Ya Ya album guitars ? 🤔

Studio?

"Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!" by The Rolling Stones, recorded primarily at Madison Square Garden in November 1969, had very limited studio touch-ups. Overdub sessions took place in January 1970 at Olympic Studios. Specifically, lead vocals were overdubbed on all tracks except "Love in Vain" and "Midnight Rambler," backup vocals were added to three tracks, and guitar overdubs were applied to "Little Queenie" and "Stray Cat Blues."

For the few guitar overdubs on "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!" recorded at Olympic, the Stones used Ampeg VT-22 and V-4 amps.

I have 3 bassman clones , love them. It works the other way too . Back in the 60's there weren't many bass specific amps so bass players would play guitar amps. I've played both acoustic and electric through my 800 w Mesa with it's matching 2x15 cab. VERY clean .

I play bass through both of my Acoustic amps ,( Mesa Rosette,Fender SFX II) albiet at low volumes in Acoustic gigs.

As long as your careful with EQ and volume .. it works

Is everybody ready?
We're sorry for the delay.
Is Everybody ready?

The story went they had brought over all the UK spec Fender gear to their rehearsal space in SoCal (San Diego IIRC), got it all set up and kapow! It didn't like the 117V US service. Ampeg offered the back line at NC as a marketing deal.
I have seen photos of the rehearsal gear- silver face fenders with the JBL badge on them.
But this is odd- was this just a complete bone-headed move (not realizing the voltage wasn't compatible) as they had just done the Hyde park show with the Hiwatt backline?
