• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Grover Locking Tuners

I recentlyfound a set of Grover locking tuners that I had purchased for a LP clone a few years back but never installed. I would like to install them on my LP Standard (they will fit without any modification needed to the head stock).

My question is how do you use them? Each tuner comes with 2 spacers and I need to know whether the string gets sandwiched between the 2 or do I use only one spacer and the screw head sandwiches the string against the spacer. To complicate this a little more, each of the 2 spacers is a different length.

Since I never saw this type of tuner used before, I am uncertain on how to set it up. In case you are wondering, I like locking tuners because it makes stringing the guitar easier and faster, and the string settles in much faster - better tuning stability from the start.

Thanks for any info you can provide.
