• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Gibson shows a little ES love

The five Johnny Jones interviews under "players" are pretty priceless too.

This is, overall, one of the best featurettes I've ever seen Gibson do online.

Very nice -- I hadn't seen this, either, so it is greatly appreciated. Makes me appreciate my ES-335 that much mo'!

Wow....I didn't realize that they Plek the frets. :applaude

Doesn't it seem counter-intuitive to plek them midway through the assembly process to anyone else? What do I know... but that seems to me like it might, err, underachieve on the full benefit of doing it at all, perhaps. :hmm

It does seem like that to me too.
I also see that they "polish" the fret board with linseed oil.

Thanks for the link clayville!
I saved that page.

I got so curious about that Plek timing thing that I asked over in the tech area about it. Only thing I could think of was to keep metal shavings out of the pickups... but somebody over there says they simulate the string tension on the necks before they Plek...

Whatever that means...:hmm

Anyway, it IS a cool site. Looks like a Bud commercial!
