Does anyone know, how different the Gibson humbuckers from the early 60's are, compared and contrasted to the ones produced in '58 or '59? Magnets, windings, wire, wax, etc... Highly appreciated!

A slightly shorter magnet, more consistent windings on the coils, none of the old Gibson pickups were waxed.
The early PAF bobbin patent number pickups are really fine sounding pickups.

Dave,

Thank you. Would a slightly shorter magnet mean lesser output?

I don't think so. I have a set of these pickups in a '64 SG Custom. They measure around 8.1k, and in comparing them to PAF guitars I've played back-to-back, there certainly is no shortage of output on the part of the '64.
