Gibson Hollow body electrics Why do they not make them now

I was wondering what happened to the Gibson hollow body electrics? Haven't been on here for a long time so I must have missed something. I played an ES 225-T for around 20 years and my son has it now. the 175, and 125 and others were very popular, I thought. Only ES-175's I see now are old and the asking price is 4K to 7K . I really liked the thin line cut away, hollow body's.

The ES-330 is the only fully hollow body thinline available in current production.

Apart from the Chuck Berry 1955 ES-350T reissue, the big and deep body laminate ES and (carved) Archtop line have been on indefinite 'hiatus' since late HJ-era into the post-bankrupcy 'New Gibson' current era, and are due to return at some point TBD.

That said, they probably won't return to full production only limited runs from the Custom Shop.

I was talking with my guitar store in NY the other week, I'm after a 330L, and they said Gibson will be making more ES gats in a few months time, may be that the 330s will be produced at the CS this time around too as jb says, fingers crossed.

USA can definitely do runs of laminate ES guitars as the press resides in the USA location; they do laminates for both USA and CS. Which ones and how many...? Anyone's guess.

Carved Archtops are bound to be restricted to the CS (housed in a different location).

I recall playing a Wes Montgomery L5 at a store many years ago, what a beautiful guitar. Not really what I would play regularly but would have loved to have one just to look at it. I did buy a new 175 at one point as they were in regular production, beautiful guitar and sounded great until I turned it up and got WOOOOOOOO😄

I agree with you on that.
