• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I have finally had a go at it and recorded some short takes with Ghostie. I was just noodling around with a theme that was in my head so here is a short one, warts and all. No effects or reverb. Turned out cleaner than i thought, possibly 'cos i couldn't really crank it, it's on less than 2 volume... afternoon LOL. Jumpered inputs. Hope you enjoy it :)
Recorded on a Sony PCM-M10 portable recorder in .wav format. Fender Bassman ptp amp. 'Ghostie' is a HM-A '07 R9.

Plug in this pair of very reasonably priced cans.
It will make even a laptop sound card sound good.
Best 20 bucks you'll spend on headphones.
Great clip, BTW! Love that clean tone.

Thanks guys, and i need a pair of headphones like that.
I'm not much good with the right fingers, i'm left handed. I kind of cheat and use mainly just 2 fingers, LOL.
I wanted to challenge myself a bit, to play this clean and w/o reverb. Feel kinda naked!

LOL back in the good old days of my youth I had big old Howard Stern/Juan Epstein curly hair. pony tail at times. Then, I got the job, saw my taxes being taken out and those hippie days were over! Its short but thinning. Not your short though. 1/4 buzz. Man i would look pretty funny! :rofl

That sounds great! Reminds me a lot of Mark Knopfler's Les Paul tone if you don't mind me saying that :) .

Not at all thanks :) possibly got to do with the fact he also picks with his fingers.
Pretty interesting for me how many tones i can get with the 5f6a. I had the bright channel lower than the normal channel there, jumpered. When the ch vol are equal it drives nicely. When you remove the jumper and plug into one channel the sound is quite different.
I'm pretty happy with these Throbak pickups. Once you have a good clean sound dialed, OD is no prob.
The fact that the clip is wav not compressed mp3 helps maintain that clarity.
Hope to record some more stuff in a bit different vein - although clean and slow is more of a challenge personally. I'm still trigger happy with the Sony LOL. Nice little gadget.
