Took my 2010 Les Paul G0 to my tech to have the action adjusted. We noticed the fret wire on the G0 is lower than on 2016 Les Paul Standard Faded. What is difference in frets used between these two guitars?

Gibson has been using Jescar FW45100 on Historics for years now, but the flat crown or crown height can be very different. Gibson seems to like to eat a lot of the crown height off and i am sure there is some variance either by hand or by Plek machine. I dropped a screwdriver on my R9 and it destroyed a fret. I replaced it with the Jescar FW45100 and the crown height difference was dramatically higher and was leveled from .047 down to about .042 to match. I bought a Stew-Mac a micrometer with a plunger on the bottom to read the fret height. It would give you some idea of the height and width of the frets on your R0. It's helpful to know if you have to replace a fret and can use a fret with a lower crown to match instead of hogging a ton of fret off to match. It would also tell you if the standard faded is using a taller jumbo, which is totally possible.
