• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Yes, perhaps we should get all these parts together and do a blind taste test shoot out. We just need someone to part with their vintage bridge. Pigtail was the flavor of the month a few years ago. I have a box full of parts and lots of whiskey!
Yep we need a vintage bridge for our party!

I have 2 F.U. bridge on order and just order 2 crazy parts bridges. we will see which one makes a difference
I ordered Crazyparts bridge last week and will have it this week. It is an aged Gibson ABR1 with Crazyparts saddles, screws and thumbwheels. I would consider the FU product, but apparently you have to go on Facebook to contact them...

Little bit of a drive for us
And a long swim for me from the UK. I had my FU bridge plus brass thumbwheels and posts installed by a tech on my 2017 R0. And yes, changed the whole sound of the guitar. Acoustically louder, more sustain, less tinny sounding, much fuller and ”rounder”. Through my 18 watt Marshall clone (Carol Ann) it sings. Also needed to turn down the tone control from 8 to 4. So does it make a difference ? Yes. Does it improve my playing ? The jury is out on that. Is it worth the financial outlay ? Depends how you feel about that one too.

Had the same experience when I changed, thumbwheels and post to brass, and installed Faber abr-1. I have ordered the Four uncles abr-1, hopefully this will be and upgrade to the Faber😊

Just curious, with the FU bridge, are the saddles loosely fitted? For example, If you break a string, could a saddle fall out and get lost?

Received my Four Uncles ABR -1 today. I compared it to my Faber and the original bridge from my M2M 59. The FU is more mid and treble sounding than the Faber. I think it is because it has less bass than the Faber. It sounds closer to the M2M 59 bridge than the Faber, but without the harsh metal sound. It has a nice hollow sound and is more musical and even sounding. The Faber and the FU sounds a lot better than the Gibson. The Faber is louder and more punchy with more bass than the FU. I don't have a vintage 59 bridge, so don't know if the FU nails the sound of the original, but it is definitely a big upgrade compared to the Custom Shop bridge. The change in sound between the different bridges is bigger than I expected. The bridge has a huge impact on the tone of the guitar.
