Back in the day when I was doing large gigs it was my '91 Les Paul Standard with a Dimarzio Norton in the bridge through two Marshall half-stack rigs: "dry" JCM 800 2204 and the other was "wet" Midi setup with a Marshall JPM-1 preamp, Carvin power amp, and ART Multiverb Alpha 2.0 digital effects unit.

Nowadays the old live rig hangs in the garage mostly silent.

Today it's either the 'ol '91 Les Paul (now with MSSC harness and Sheptone PAFs) through one of these amps below or more often than not just because it's the one I leave laying around outside the case, it's the '19 Original Collection Les Paul Special through my 5E3 Tweed Deluxe clone.

i'll go first.

i like my 01 std+ with antiquities most of all. i play it into either a silverface champ or silverface bassman into a 2x12. nothing added other than a distortion or boost pedal. i gotta go with the champ with the pharoah class-a-boost in front as my favorite setup. it gets that nice tubey breakup sound. on a rare occasion i'll use a digitech all in one pedal on a filthy setting to exorcise my metal demons. and i gotta confess that i still really dig abusing the '79 "the paul" on occasion also.

i hope the wise old sages of the LPF are not offended by this thread. i apologize for excluding them but i really am interested in hearing from some of the 4000+ members who, like myself, spend the great majority of their time here reading.

to those wise old sages, i enjoy the great majority of the info and a lot of the humor you all share here. many thanks.

2008 Bonamassa gold top, with my just acquired Mesa 50w Badlander combo.

Here’s the main Bonamassa, on the right, along with a ‘13 Bonamassa Standard.

I play LP Specials. I got 4 of them. 3 are Tributes and the other one is a regular 2022 Special with a bound neck.

The amp I use most is a 1961 Brownface Fender Super that's in very good shape for its age. Amps are made to be played, it's no trailer queen, so I take it to gigs often. I also got a Peavey Nashville 112 that I play through a lot too. Both of these amps sound awesome with a LP Special.

Hello all my fellow Gibson lovers. I have 2 Gibson Les Paul’s. A 2021 Les Paul tribute tobacco burst and a 2019 Les Paul special with p90s. My favorite is the special. Something about those p90s along with the fact it’s fairly light. It’s just a smooth playing guitar. Love it. And my go to amp is a blues jr and occasionally I’ll run both my pro jr and blues jr with a aby pedal. Pretty sick tone when running both. But normally I’m just playing on the worship team at church and I go through a kemper.

A 2006 Epiphone LP Standard, a 2006 Gibson LP Studio and a '65 Fender Twin Reverb that makes a great seat for gigs.

04 R8 Cloud9 Teaburst. It has Bareknuckle Mule PAF style humbuckers with matched CTS pots and Emerson Bumblebee paper in all caps. Got it going thru a Tech21 Trademark 10 amp. At 74 with advancing arthritis I'm strictly a home player but this Tech21 TM10 is really great small amp.
