This is my 54MB from Todd Krause. I wasn't much of a Fender guy until I purchased this back in 2006.

The weight is perfect for a Strat, 7lb 3 oz.

For one, I've really been enjoying this new forum. The pictures of the guitars some of you guys own are awesome. Although I did have some vintage guitars forty years ago I don't now and could never justify the coinage it would take to retrieve the likes of them. Congratulations to you for your diligence.

I can afford a couple of newer guitars, though, and for the past 20 years or so have gone through some nice newer Strats and Teles. Seems like I would buy one, play it for a few years, see something I deemed a little better and traded, bought or sold to acquire that one.

Right now I'm sitting on these two. The sunburst is a '54 Masterbuilt Anniversary model built by Mark Kendrick. The other, a 1960 Reissue with the matching headstock. Funny, my current Tele is not a Fender but a Nash. I sold my two Custom Shop Teles after acquiring that one.

Let's see your newer Fender guitars!

cool guitars!
I've wanted a custom shop sonic blue Strat with the matching headstock for a long time now! Just out of curiousity, how does the masterbuilt differ from the CS strat as far as build quality and sound/feel?

Dig the Nash tele..I've played probably up to 3 or 4 now when visiting my fave guitar store and I have to say that every single one has been amazing playing and sounding..

all of these guitars look amazing, and i would love to own any of them but i do have a problem with the fender custom shop. I think the prices on most of the custom shop guitars are crazy considering they are bolt on neck guitars. there just isnt as much work that goes into making one. I guess you are paying for quality of wood, but should that be so much more of an increase? that being said, i think the gibson custom shop prices are even more astronomical.

and for the record i own a custom shop fender and a custom shop gibson and i love both of them.

These guitars are worth every penny to me. This is a 1960 NOS Strat I had and wish I still had! They really are sweet playing and great sounding instruments, bolt on or no. And I disagree that there "just isn't as much work that goes into them". If that were the case there would be more like them and there isn't..

I have a thing for ash bodied, maple neck Strats...

50th Anniversary Masterbuilt in an early '56 Tweed case. Plays and sounds killer!

I have owned a played a few Custom shop and Masterbuilt Teles over the years and loved them all.

Naturally, being the idiot I am, sold them at one point or another

As I near retirement, I am attempting to keep the spending down and concentrate on just a few superb guitars. (2 elec and 2 acoustic).

Recently elected add Tele back into the fold. Played a few Custom shops, Thin Skins and this plain ole American Standard.
In the end, this is the one that grabbed me the most. A great guitar at it's respective price point.

In all fairness, Teles are highly addictive and I just may have to look into "1 final" custom shop. :jim
