You know, I'm not a HUGE Fender guy, I have some old Gibsons in the stable and a great 1963 Jazzmaster, which is all the vintage Fender action I really need, but lately I've been hankering for a Strat, which I do not currently have. Strats were my first guitars, and it'd be fun to have one again, however, I'm not really that into them, and don't really feel the need to go custom shop, and certainly not vintage. I have a very specific Strat I'd like in mind, but short of ordering a CS spec'd out, it doesn't exist, except it ALMOST does. Looking for a slab board with PEARL DOTS- yes, that's right, with the transitional logo and mint guard. Boy sure sounds a lot like the American Original 60's Strat, you might say, and I'd say, why yes it does! Except for one thing, gotta have it in Sonic Blue. I'm wondering if there's any chatter from Fender about updating their colors to include a sonic blue in the 60's AO, or if there's been any FSR runs of Sonic Blue in this model. You'd think Fender would have Sonic Blue at the top of their list, seems very desirable and every time a AVRI 59 in Sonic comes up on the 'verb, it sells right away, and Dave's and Wildwood have had great responses from their special run Sonic Blues, both of which I'd gladly get if I could have one with the transitional logo. So I'd expect this color to come to the AO series eventually. What do you kids think?

An original 60's slab board Fender Strat with pearl dots and transtional logo doesn't exist.
Slab boards was used from autumn 1959 to around july/august 1962, and Fender didn't use pearl dots until '65.
Transitional logo came on Strats around summer 1964.

Yes, I'm well aware of the vintage timeline, these are features I'd want in a modern Strat which can easily be ordered via custom shop and the American Original series does have this on their 60's Stratocaster model, however I think the slab board on the AO series is a thick lam board, but close enough. American original is a series of modern guitars Fender offers currently, not an original 60's, in my post I wrote I'm not looking for a vintage or even a custom shop. Was really asking if anyone had any info about any potential upcoming coloros to the AO Fender lineup as I'm looking for a Sonic Blue American Original 60's Strat.
