I have a Faber Bridge (not the locking one) on my 2014 R8. I have the nickle plated brass saddles installed. I also have a set of their titanium saddles that I bought some time ago but never installed.

Has anyone used the titanium saddles?

If so, why?

How do they sound compared to the nickle plated brass?

I've swapped brass saddles for titanium on an ABR-1, but not a Faber. It gave the guitar what I consider to be strange overtones in the high frequencies and a little harder pick attack.

Did you swap all 6 or just the 3 bass saddles?

Good to know.
I just ordered the Faber master kit for my 03 ‘68 Custom. I opted for the brass saddles, not really knowing what would be the best.

As a rule, I don’t like “plated” anything. when I first started dabbling in cars and motorcycles and speed mods (70s-80s) I discovered that chrome was another way of saying “Cheap crap that isn’t going to fit and the plating is going to peel off and it’s going to look like crap anyway…”

Maybe the nickel-plated brass saddles are the way to go, but I decided against them.

The irony, I might add, is that the whole reason I am taking all of the gold hardware off of the guitar is that I’m going back with polished nickel in its place.
