THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING!
We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
WE HAVE MOVED THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER! Let us know how it is going! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin
Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!
Same here , does not seem to affect tonal qualities,
lol - someone knew what they were doing , making necks
TG / XA masters
often imatated, seldom duplicated
I'd love to find a '50s or '60s vintage Strat/Tele with a flame maple neck - supposedly they are super-rare in the '50s and were mostly made for celebrity artists and maybe NAMM shows.
I once saw a late '60s Telecaster Thinline in natural with a flame-y body and a flame-y neck... still haunts me.
Mike Fenton had an extremely clean and very light Esquire here in San Diego. This was sometime during the nineties. I recall it being a '57 and it had a heavily flamed neck. It was priced at $4000, or slightly more. That is one guitar I really regret not scooping up when I had the chance.
