• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Ed King has passed away...the LPF's tribute to a legend.

Your words could not have been more eloquent Charlie. I am beyond saddened at this news. Through my limited knowledge of him via Social Media, I can say that the qualities of him you spoke about came through quite clearly. I'm sure he is going to be sorely missed by many and especially those lucky enough to have been a friend. He and his family will be in my prayers of course, as will you and Shari.

Nice tribute, CD. We were very fortunate to be blessed with his insight here at the LPF.

Perfect and fitting eulogy CD! Thank you for sharing! I had a feeling he was not doing well after the surgery. RIP to a forum brother and legend. Farewell Mr. King, prayers to friends and family, God Bless!

RIP. Don't forget his first "second chance" of making an obviously tough career move a year or two before that ill fated flight :dang

RIP Ed, from what I saw and read on here he seemed like a truly decent bloke.

My sympathy and condolences to all his family and friends.

Here's a cool video of Ed playing Snatch.

I am lost for words. I just checked in for a usual LPF browse and I am so sad to hear this.

Rest in peace, Ed. See you on the other side...thank you for the kind words, CD.

Very well said Charlie...

Ed was a great guy who made time for his many fans and I feel lucky to have been the recipient of that generosity. He had a super quick wit and a sharp tongue but he also had a wonderful appreciation for the gifts he'd been given. Not many such people are accessible to dumb asses like me but Ed was. Over the years I spoke with him via email and online and he was always kind and helpful. His love of guitars was contagious and he inspired me to buy more than one Strat (even though I could never play them worth a damn). It's a sad day and this planet is a lessor place without him...
