How do we know the 25W isn't dimed, and the 50W @ 1/2?
It's the dials that do the damage...

"Using a decibel meter app, we measure the loudness of both amps at full volume to give you a clear idea of the difference between a 25-watt vs 50-watt amp. We’ve set both amps to their maximum master volume levels so you get the full effect of the cranked tube distortion."

How did I miss that?
My hearing is crap from years of garage band jams with everything dimed.
Next time CC will be "on".

Don't blame yourself. That information was not disclosed in the video's audio.

It was in the sub-header, which you wouldn't have seen unless you watched on YouTube and expanded the "Description".

Wattage matters, but speakers and enclosure type do too. I have all of the above, Fender tube and SS open backs, and Marshall tube head and closed back cabs. All have their pros and cons, but all can do, what I need them to do.

There is not really any argument to settle, it is basic physics and well understood. If you double the power of an amplifier and everything else remains the same (same speaker and same listening distance) there will be a 3dB increase in the sound pressure level.

I remember when Boogies were handmade by Randall Smith. They were glorious, magnificent beasts.
mesa still makes great shit. i got my first mesa in 1981. my boy doc has done countless world tours with the brains and sparky (his triple wreck) w/ zero issues.

i literally smoked my fender zinky dual professional on saturday and replaced it with my mesa mk25> mesa thiele w/ a ev 12l and went right back to tracking.

wanna start poking holes in a rig? put a 7 w/ a low a thru it.
