• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

At the behest of one of my friends, he wanted me to ask the forum the following. What power tubes were in EC's Marshalls when he recorded Crossroads? Also, were those heads JTM 45 series amps?

Micheal Doyle's book indicates the change from KT 66's to EL34's was in '66. Stumbler most likely is right, not many had KT 66's according to the same book, the KT 66's were used in the early experimental models and they settled on the EL34's. It also said they used 6V6's and 6L6's in early models.
