Bursts Across America 2011

Back in October a friend called and asked me if I wanted to tech for Joe Bonamassa. Let's see... Bursts, Marshalls, great playing... okay I am in!
Once we hit the road Joe and I made a little mission to search out the mighty Sunburst everywhere we went. The idea was to find an outside Burst every week, this didn't actually happen every week, but a couple of our stops yielded multiple Bursts.

Our first Burst we met was the recently sold 58 at Rumbleseat...

Next up we met up with this cool 60 in Boston....

then the Burst well dried up for a few days... and we roll into Texas and Charlie Daughtry picks us up to rekindle the flame so to speak..
we walk into this severe Lifton situation.

Yes indeed 7 Bursts waiting! add in Joe's 2 for a total of a 9 Burst day. As you know Charlie loaned us his 59 named Nikki and arranged for some Korina to show up too.
Nikki spent the night in my room...

This beautiful 58 was visiting at soundcheck...

and of course the Explorer, without a doubt THE coolest guitar on the planet!

As we are just barely landing back on planet earth after the Texas hang... Gladys makes her appearance in Phoenix...

Here is Gladys from my perspective...

To wrap up our mission, we stopped off in Seattle to see a mint 59 and the old Flamin Harry 60...

We ended up seeing 12 Bursts and having some great guitar hangs. Joe actually saw one more Burst in Chicago while I was setting up his gear... but I don't feel so bad since it was a 60 Clownburst...

Cheers, Mike
