I scored a pair of these for $100, man I dig these things. The ones I have sound nothing like the 57 classics that came out of the guitar. They're a little microphonic, but the tone is killer. The high notes sing without sounding like breaking glass. Has anybody had a chance to really dick around with these? I'm kinda liking them better than the modded aunt dickys, although the guitar I put them in doesn't have connected tone pots, so I'm tempted to hear what the antiquities sound like without them too, to see if the lack of tone pots is whats giving the extra grind to the burstbuckers. Cool pickups, I want more.:)spin

Yup, I put them in the 58, what a killer combo. The magnet is the old style rough cast type, and its full length like the old suckers. The way the lead lengths were made me put the hotter pickup in the neck, so the bridge is like 8.2K (#2), and the neck is 8.4k (#3). They aren't wax potted at all, and they are black, so I used the antiquity covers on them because they are thin, so not being potted is probably why they are a tad microphonic. I'll probably pot the covers seeing I like them so much.

The set I got from Dave's were both marked #2. One is 8.22, the other 8.69.

Put them in the 97-R8, I like them a lot.
