• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hi,
On my Les Paul Classic Plus there is buzzing on all the open strings. I know it has nothing to do with the fretboard. It sounds like something is vibrating on the ABR1 bridge but I don't know what. Please help me the buzzing is very annoying.

Thanks!

Is it just on open strings, and goes away when they are fretted? If so, I'd be checking the nut.

If you think its comming from the
bridge. and the bridge has a retaining
wire. thats what it is, the wire.

No it still buzzes when fretted but its not that kind of Buzz related to the action. It sounds like a vibration on the bridge.

Sometimes the saddles will actually buzz, so make sure all the saddles are pushed back in the bridge, because they like to creep foward and start buzzing sometimes. The retaining wire will indeed buzz like crazy on the ABR bridge, so check it anyway. Once in a while I will see a saddle with the grove cut JUST right to where the string sides will vibrate off the side of the groove and buzz. Its always fun trying to find them frigging buzzes though, right up there with ball surgery.:lolspin

Bridge buzzes are kind of like mojo. Unexplainable, but you know it's there.
