• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Acoustically the guitar is very loud. From what I have heard with the pups so far.....it's really well balanced and musical, like an old burst. Very resonant, clear and responsive.

A chambered Korina body and Korina neck must make a very lightweight Les Paul. Have you weighed the guitar? I'm curious. Who is doing the custom build? Gibson? You? Righteous looking Les Paul, I look forward to pics of the finished product.

It's a collaboration between Roman Rist and Dave Johnson. Not really meant to be a clone, but has been carefully measured and constructed based upon actual measurements from a number of 50's vintage Les Paul's. I haven't weighed it , but I am told it's somewhere in the 6 lb range. I have heard the mockup played on a video, and it is surprisingly loud unplugged.

She is out for paint.....updates to follow. Light amber back, with golden burst front. I want it to be very subtle, almost faded looking.

Nice guitar. I think that's a good choice of materials. What kind of money does something like that go for?

I think that 'micro-buildres' might be the next big thing. I've gotten a couple of guitars from small builders over the years. Seems like they pay more attention to detail and precision.

I need a good clone builder. I pretty hooked on Les Paul's - have been since the 80's- but I'm also prettry sick of Gibson flubbery. I need someone to build me a LP Custom repro.

I didn't really get into this guitar thinking I would be building a clone. I can tell you that a custom shop/historic would have been more cost effective.
As far as accuracy and attention to detail with body carve and routes...no compromises were taken by the builders.

Update pictures. Top has been stained, back pore filled. I am expecting clear and some movement with the burst on the top this week...... a light "tea burst".

Top was just sprayed with a light icetea burst. More clear with amber tint to follow. Should start to come together over the next couple of weeks.

The best sounding guitar I've ever heard plugged straight into to a Fender Twin was a '58 Flying V. Just stunning. I bet this one will sound amazing too.:salude
