• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Eh, what the hell. If I ever finish this record ... maybe during quarantine? Who knows. In the meantime, this is Birdy (0 2165), I believe straight into a Tweed Deluxe or a Selmer Zodiac Twin 30. One of those two. I honestly forgot. It's a Jerry Garcia song played in the style of Herbie Hancock "Headhunters." We're calling the record "Deadhunters." Here's my solo from the tune. I'm doing some Lee Ritenour meets Jeff Beck kinda thing. Honestly, I don't know what I'm doing, because I suck at jazz, but I'm trying to sound jazz fusiony. But I'm happy with what I got, and the tone is pretty wonderful. It shows that thing that some of the best Bursts do, which is that midrange bloom.

Longest solo I've ever played, btw. LOL. Do a J and enjoy.

Probably a U67 a foot off the speaker into a Helios 69. That's my preferred chain. I probably went into an RS124 compressor after that, similar to this one. Probably have the UAD Fairchild on when I mixed.

Did you find out, why some have it and some don‘t?

My ear was immediately drawn to the great low end...kick and bass.

I think most of them do it. There's only a couple Bursts I've played that seemed lifeless. I don't know why some are great and some aren't.
