Hi guys, thinking about modding my Les Paul with a bass contour control, you know, l something akin to what Reverend has on all of their guitars. I like the idea of tightening up the low end and getting a cleaner single coil ish kinda tone, thinking about keeping individual volume pots for each pickup and using one of the tone pots as a master tone pot and the other would be a master bass contour pot.
I’ve found a couple of wiring diagrams and I’ll try to add them to this post. Just curious to find out how many of you have done such a mod to their Les Paul or any of their 4 knob Gibson’s for that matter. What wiring diagram did you go with and why?
Thanks to you all

Instead of drilling in the top for a pot , why not first try the flipped pickup magnet in the neck position for the out of phase sound ? A la Peter Green .

I've never done it but I've considered it. I would probably use one of the tone pots to do it and use the other as a master tone (or just get rid of the neck tone which I almost never use). I do have the Jimmy Page wiring in one Les Paul which gives the coil splits and that's a nice sound so if you have 4-conductor pickups that might be more straightforward.

The Les Paul Recording & Les Paul Triumph Bass both have separate Bass & Treble controls. Being low impedance, the pot & component values would be different but could be helpful.
