• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Yes, Kat is a babe. I'm glad she's still in the competition. She's clearly the better singer. And as I've said before, I think the guys will be better off not getting into that binding Idol pop contract.

I've heard that the show is rigged. Does anyone really vote? We watch the show all the time, but we never vote. In fact, I don't know anyone who actually votes. :biglaugh:

Well personally, I thought Chris Daughtry was the best. He has a great vocal and he rocked out more than the rest. I CANNOT believe he's gone and the others are still there.

Chris would have been better suited for that INXS Rock Show thing that Dave Navarro hosted. Man...I wish they would bring that show back. That show had a KILLER backing band! :headbange

I just saw where Chris will get a chance at Fuel's offer after the next three months commitments are met. He has to tour with the last 10 finalists in the post finale arena hoedown that Idol has every year. He's lucky it's only a 3 month contract.

I thought the INXS show was good until about 3 shows before the end they let it slip that INXS had helped write "Pretty Vegas" that basically won the show. INXS didn't help any of the others write their song. I have heard that INXS may do the same show this year or next year.

Chris can get a better contract now than Idol could offer him and he won't have to sing the teenie pop crap. Rock on Chris!

Well, I can tell you the sound engineer should be fired. The reverb was excessive and the music too loud to hear the singers. I loved Kat tonight even though Randy and Paula were obvious they don't like her. I think Paula is still heartsick that Chris is gone and they are taking it out on Kat because they thought she should have gone last week instead of him.

Taylor was very good but I still think Kat should be the idol. Elliott was mediocre tonight.

I've been sold on Katherine as the new idol for awhile. I think a couple that got booted early on had more talent (Lisa, Gideon) than Elliot. I watch with my daughter who happens to be a drummer and told her I thought Elliot was singing behind the beat. She agreed but said alot of groups/singers are doing that now. I was surprised but apparently it's true in some cases. Bad enough that most of contemporary guitar rock is one dimensional, no solo fluff. Now singing behind the beat is catching on as an accepted form? I'm not yet convinced but I suppose anything is possible today.

Well the sound problem was the tv I wasatching it on. I have two big screens and the one in the basement sounds totally different than the one upstairs. I recorded it and was watching it back and the sound is good upstairs.

I hope Elliot goes. I have also been sold on Kat. from the beginning. She has the whole package of looks and vocals. Perfect for an Idol. Taylor really knows how to work an audience though.

Elliott did nothing for me, Kat was OK, Taylor was OK as well. I think the best singer left the show last week.

Taylor is the crowd favorite, an entertainer.
Kat is the idol.

Taylor's Joe Cocker imitation was pretty good, so was his Otis Redding. But, he wasn't as good as the originals, he didn't/couldn't sell the songs like they could. None of the remaining three is at a pro level yet. Maybe Kat, if she matures a little.

Elliott: Buh-bye!

Taylor is a fun entertainer. He does the gritty soulful songs well. He's an excellent karaoke singer. Elliott is the best male vocalist the show has ever had. Kat is the best vocalist (male or female) the show has ever had. Anyone of the three could win, though I think Katherine will.

I actually thought they were all fairly decent performances last night, especially Kat's 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'. That took the prize. The worst was probably Elliott's 'Open Arms'. As good as I think he is, none of that shows male singers can sing like Steve Perry. Elliott didn't do it any justice at all.

Kat's "Over the Rainbow" (as Simon said) was the best vocal performance of the season, IMHO. I liked her before, but I think that one performance won her the crown. As other's have mentioned, she has the whole package...looks, voice, and after last nite...style.

I want Kat to stay tonight but I have a sinking feeling that she will be going home.

Whomever goes home now will probably have a better career than the idol winner.

Looks like the dialidol website that Tim posted earlier has Elliot being voted off. It hasn't been wrong yet! We'll see..........:jim

I WILL buy an Elliott CD if he puts one out. As Mike said, he is a class act and a really good singer.

I was afraid Elliot would be gone. He has a toneful voice, and all around good guy persona. He'll do fine out there. Hicks has a goofy good time thing going on, and Kat, well shes just going to knock them out. If she loses the baby fat, watch out. I say.....................McPhee, takes it.
