I disagree. Her performance was the only one that I saw.
I really like her a lot, but...

She didn't do that song justice at all. She was straining for the high notes.
I think the judges were right on the money although they were harsher on her than they'd be with anyone else.

Maybe because she bit off more than she could chew?
The judges corrected themselves tonight which was a first. Simon said it was good and that he was wrong last night.

I still don't think she did the song justice.

I do agree that the judges were way to harsh on her and their appology was a good idea although it was probably prompted more by the public's reaction than just wanting to do the right thing.

I think she might have what it takes to win.

My daughter has watched this show for years and has finally matured the point that she can see that it's more about popularity than talent.
Her interest has really fallen off this year.

I've heard Simon and Randy admit they're been wrong in the past, when voicing their opinions immediately after listening to a song, mainly because they often don't hear it correctly in a live setting. It's often too loud, etc. They sometimes come up with a different opinion on whether a singer did well or not when they see a recorded segment later. I think this may have been the case with Katherine Tuesday night.

Kellie did what Mendisa did earlier, and sang the wrong song. It got her voted off. After all, not too many singers can do, 'Unchained Melody' any justice. She shouldn't have sang that at all.

I think Elliot will be gone after tonight. Chris almost lost it on the last song. I liked Taylor, but Kat is still the top.

I'm about done with Paris. I can't stand her side to side "head bobbing" that she seems to do on EVERY song she sings.... :cool

I'm thinking the same thing, Elliott will get cut loose. But I'm hoping Paris will. I'm not sure why Simon said Taylor is just the level of a wedding singer. Yes, I heard Chris straining a bit on that second song. I think Kat is probably the next Idol. She fits the mold.

I too don't like that and the fact that everything she sings is just runs up and down the scale. I don't think she can hit a note and hold it. Paris is good, but not an Idol, or at least this year's Idol. she has a huge voice but is not mature enough to be in the finals. Chris impressed me this week but it will be him or Paris next week. Taylor had a good time and did a good job as did Kat. They are going to go down to the end, IMO. I think Elliot's vibrato actually hurts his singing some of the time.

got to get back to the TV, Nashville Star is just about on.... now that is a show... and with GUITARS!!!!!

Kat and Taylor were my favorites tonight. Taylor is so interesting to watch. I thought his rendition of Something was great.

Dialidol.com shows the rank from last night as:
Taylor Hicks
Chris Daughtry
Elliott Yamin
Katharine McPhee
Paris Bennett

I find it hard to believe that Katharine is in the bottom 2 based on singing or looks. It kind of proves my theory that it is teenage girls that are voting the most for the cutest guy. I also think the producers have a part in the decision of who gets kicked off after all to them it is a show based on ratings. I can't believe that the yodling Yamin is above Katharine or even Paris.

Katherine has fallen into a nervous and confidence lacking mode as of lately. I don't know why, as she's clearly still the best. Paris has a great voice, but, as CD said, that head-shaking act of hers is quite aggravating. She's young anyway and has room for improvement. Chris always picks great songs, and his act is good, but he does have a tendency to slip out of tune a lot. I agree with Simon, although his moves have been interesting, Taylor's voice is very much in karaoke mode. He has a cool raspiness to it, but he can't really hold a tune very well. I think Elliot sings best of all the guys, but he's just not very interesting.

Kat is the best by a long shot: her voice is excellent and she's gorgeous. I could look at her all day.

I usually don't find women under 25 attractive, they all look like my kids, but Katherine looked pretty hot, and she even had on her fuck me shoes! :rofl :applaude

well now its going to get good. Daughtry has a nice tone to his voice, but doesn't control his vibrato well. Katherine seems to have it all. Hicks, has lots of r&b roots, blues, but is so damn goofy. Elliot is still my favorite male vocalist, a bit 'normal' but still think he's the one with the goods. Bet though, its Hicks or Elliot who takes the walk next week.

I agree with you. I'm betting its Katherine and my long lost illegitimate son as the two finalists....

Taylor has been number one for votes almost every week. I find it hard to believe he will walk next week. I believe it will be Taylor and Chris at the finish with Chris getting the nod as the new Idol from all the teeny boppers and young woman voters.

I wish Kat would take it home as she is the best by far. She has great control over her voice but as someone said earlier, she has been too nervous the last couple weeks and I think she is letting the stress get to her. Also she needs to make sure she doesn't do dumb things like girate on the floor like she did last week. I think that hurt her.

Yeah...the gyrating was a little weird. Now if she had given it a little more "hunching" action...... :2cool

My wife recently told me that this weeks TV guide has an American Idol article in it. The article is only about three of the remaining idols, Hicks, McPhee, and Daughtry. Elliott isn't even mentioned, as if he isn't even there or is already gone. This issue has been on sale since last week's end. Is that strange or what?
