• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hi Uli,

Looking forward to this a lot! Most interested to hear how you think the tone changes as a result of the makeover.

What exactly are you getting done? New board? Neck re-shape?

The reason why I´m doing this, is to get more tone, for me it is an experiment, and I hope that I´m very satiefied in the end.
Yes Neck shave and a new board...

Interested. I'm booked with Florian for a few guitars to make-over, fix, improve, etc.

Good choice.

Yeah, what have you asked Florian to do in total? I'm especially interested in your preferred final colour/amount of fade and the degree of ageing/relicing if any.

Also, have you got any new parts/pickups lined up, and will that be part of Florian's remit? Sorry, I'm just feeling nosey today! :salude

no problem ! In total : new brasilian board, refinishing, ( until now I´m not sure about the colour, but the direction is a more historic acurate lemon drop ) ans I´m thinking about to reset the neck.

The pickups ate Voodoo Pick ups from Peter Florance, so I´m happy with them...no change..

how far in advance do you have book for him to do a refin?

I gave him the first ring in June, the guitar was sent in July, and during September he started to work, but that was so fast, because another customer canceld his makeover.
Florian told me that he is booked out for almost 2 years...
