I was bored as hell today, so I grabbed the first 3 cases nearest the camera and started taking photos.

I think the reason it was stamped an 8 is because between the pickups and just under the A string there is a tiny knot in the wood that is shaped like a star. To me, it adds to the personality of the guitar.

Hmmmm............ "Little Star" not bad!

GW, you should just adopt me and then I wouldn't have to worry about buying any more LPs.

Toni,
I got one from Make n Music here in Chicago, and the others from Dave's Guitar Shop. The last one I got from a private owner.

RobertD,
If you can find a place to sleep amongst all the guitar cases, consider this home!:dude

I want the one in the middel, Dean. Seriously. Just put a pickguard on it, because they aren't LEs pauls without pickguards.
So tell me about the one in teh middle.

Big Ed,
The one in the middle is a new Authentic that I got from Dave's.
It weighs 8 pounds 13 ounces. The neck has a very slight taper and is a medium big neck, but it's very comfortable. It's got a nice "C" shape like a 68 Les Paul would have.

The tone is real close the other Authentic in the photo, but this guitar has a bit more of a "growl" in the bridge position where as the other Authentic has a little cleaner tone, but it's not a bright tone.

The tone of this guitar in the bridge position reminds me of like having a Wa-Wa pedal half open. It's got a real woodie tone to it as does the other Authentic.

I don't mind the weight, due to the way these two guitars sound.
Here is another photo with the guard on:

Ed I would have to agree with you on that, but if it was an R-9 the price would have been way higher and I probably would not of bought it! (yea Right)

I may bring a few of these to the Arlington show. I would like to compare the tone to some of the other Forum members guitars.

Hey PT59...I should be by Dean's house this weekend for the Elgin show. If you want to come along, you're invited. I need to have Mr Goodwood finish his lesson on "The Cowboy Song" by Thin Lizzy. He just does not collect goodwood, he can PLAY goodwood.

When that guy questioned him awhile back, I told you guys he was a stand up guy...He knows his gear.

BEAU-TEE-FULL axes Bro....

Isn't there a law restricting how many you can adopt Dean ? I think there is. I'm a little fuzzy on the specifics, but you can adopt only 3, and then the 4th has to go to a Forum member ( insert my name here )

Goodwood- If you were forced to keep just one of the three...which would you keep? Do they all recieve equal playing time?

Sweet gear!

That's like asking me which two fingers on my left hand I want removed!:lolspin

Good question, and a hard one to answer.

They all have their own unique quirks about them that I like.
If I had to sell two of them..........................
Man, tough question.
Give me an hour and I'll be back to answer that.......if an extra hour will change how I fell about them!;)

10 4 I've rarely seen teaburst finishes on the reissues. When you gig, how many (and which type) guitars do you bring?

Well ,
I have completed the test!
Either they all stay and I am a happy guy, or they all go and I sit in a corner with a gallon of Jack!!

Ok, I would keep them in this order 1 being the top guitar in the photo:

2 then 1 then 3.......
No wait, 3 then 1 then 2..........
no wait, can I try again?
Ok, this time I'll get it right
1 then 2, no wait, then 3 then 1....DAMN IT...... I CAN'T DO IT........
I CAN'T SELL ANY OF THEM!!!
MY HEAD HURTS...........

Hey Nick, I broke it off with my fiance' last weekend so I am probably going to drink a lot this weekend. I don't want to find myself blued, screwed and tatooed? somewhere in the mid-west Monday morning.:lol:lol

Hey Dean, I can't believe your 2 favorite historics are new 58A's. :wtf

At least they are putting something good out this year.
