• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

A few pics of my 56 conversion

I fell out of my chair when I saw how well Billy's (lpnv59) 56 conversion turned out after he bursted it. After a couple of gold refins of my 56 that I wasn't totally happy with, I just had to ask him if he would be willing to do mine as well. And I am soooo glad I did!!! I am really beside myself with how well it turned out! I know the seam is not close to the middle, but honestly, that really doesn't bother me at all! Matter of fact, I like it that way since it's unique and not like every other burst in the world!

Thanks Billy, you did an outstanding job man!!

Man, "old wood is old wood"!!! And a vintage Les Paul is a vintage Les Paul - even refinned and modded.

Ain't nothing wrong having a "poor man's burst"! ... and I would take an "off-center" seam, properly done 1952-1956/1959 conversion, with PAFs, over ANY Historic ever made!!

Someday before I die, I hope my conversion gets finished. 912 Days and still counting.

Thanks guys! I am so thrilled with the results on Tims conversion. I cannot believe the 2 painters before me, did NOT recommend a burst on this top. Its covered with medium flame. And the mineral stain and different shaded maple gives it a lot of character. By the way I named his guitar "Bukka", after Bukka White.....As in Tim "Bukka" White! :headbange :rofl :rofl

BTW, This shot is how it looks to me in person.

Me Next?????????

I'm shipping Tims today and I got another one coming in later this week. I can do yours after, maybe next week. Shoot me an email. I thought you were getting Dave Johnson to spray a goldtop on that restoration project. Is this another guitar?

Thanks guys! And yes, I'm estatic! I had waited 19 months the last time I had it refined gold, and had resolved that it would stay that way, even though I wasn't crazy about it, because I hated the wait and wasn't willing to put up with that again. The one week turn around on it this time is icing on the cake!

2 Years, 6 Months, 9 days, and this morning.

I can now sound like Maximus from the movie Gladiator, when Caesar asks him how long it's been since he had been back home.

Charlie, this picture reminds me of your 58, forgot her name now, that I love so much. Not the most beautiful girl at the ball, but very cute and damn fine!

I remember now, Jennifer!!
