• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

A scant number of the 68 LPs shipped out in mid summer or so with those 800xxx or 900xxx serial numbers. Maybe could have been first run or prototype models built prior to the bulk of the run was started. These usually as with the goldtop will have that crown inlay on the headstock and Les Paul unscripted truss-rod cover. Some early models did not have neither of those from what I've seen. Also some of the 501xxx have the LesPaul model decal on the headstock.
