'63 Epi Coronet Pickguard

Today I had the pleasure of buying my first Vintage Epiphone Solidbody, a one owner '63 Coronet in cherry.

The pickguard has shrunk over the years, and is unusable. The question I pose to you guys is....

Should I just go back to the same ol' white (like pretty much everybody does) Or maybe try a Tortoise guard? WD offers them in a ton of different finishes, but besides white, 3 ply tortoise is the only one that appeals to me.

Have any of y'all seen a coronet with a 3 ply tortoise guard? I think it may look cool, but you never know until you do it I guess.

Do what makes you feel good - it's reversible if you don't like it.

You could take an image of one, blow it up to "life size", and print it out on photo paper.
Cut that out, lay it on your guitar and step back.

A tortoise guard would look good,

I would stick with white. I love the tortoise idea,but, new tortoise looks bad to me.

Those always shrink. I have a '62 where the pickguard started shrinking and has a couple of cracks.

Is yours still red? Mine went brown on the front when the red faded.
