• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I was able to talk a very good friend out of this wonderful guitar. It's been with me on loan for a while and I just couldn't stand the thought of losing it!!:hank My friend did the varitonectomy on it so I didn't have to. Typical wide thin, D shape neck and a killer dark cherry color, almost like blood. It had a bigsby on it most of its life but has the original tailpiece on studs on it now. It has a repaired lengthwise headstock crack and the bigsby screw holes but, other than that it's really clean. Very light checking, very light divots in the cowboy cord positions and minimal marks on the back. I put a Callaham bridge on it and swapped out the original brass saddles for Tusk saddles. This setup seems to give me what I want to hear on ES guitars. I'm in love!!! Not so great cp pics... old post on this guitar...

Gibson perfection!! You can spend a hell of a lot more money on a Gibson but you won't find many better than these at any price. I've found those wide/thin '60-'61 necks vary quite a bit in profiles... they all have that wide/thin feel and very similar depth but the way the shoulders taper make a huge difference in feel... some can feel a bit awkward if the shoulders are too harsh and blunt (especially on what I've felt on Gibson's new "60" style necks) or too shallow and taper off too quickly from the binding edge like a few 61's I've had..... but some of these necks... to me... are the best necks Gibson ever made... bar none.

I agree. And generally modern takes on old neck sizes is too big.

Great players ES right there. Love the colour.
