How common is a black back on these? Thanks
Here's my '08 TB I owned a few year ago.Desert Burst was a pretty color and popular. I've heard of some with walnut finished backs but all that I've seen had black backs and the perimeter shaded top. Tobacco Burst, a very dark, almost black bown shade usually had the classic pear or teardrop top shading pattern and a walnut stained back, sometimes with a shaded heel.
Out of curiosity Big Al, what was the purpose of the dark shaded heel on the back of the TB LP?Bingo!! That is some pretty mahogany!
I don't know. I think it started with the older archtops and became something they just did. You see it on the 50's Jrs too.Out of curiosity Big Al, what was the purpose of the dark shaded heel on the back of the TB LP?
It looked odd to me when i first saw it.
Thanks for the reply Al.I don't know. I think it started with the older archtops and became something they just did. You see it on the 50's Jrs too.
