THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING!
We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
WE HAVE MOVED THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER! Let us know how it is going! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin
Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!
Both aftermarket. I guess.
Bridge is a double creme Dunc. Antiquity.
Neck is 14 year old Harmonic design PAF. Z-90 neck.
I sanded both surrounds down. At least the neck surround
level almost with the PG. As it was , the neck PU was too high for me.
Guitar also has a low neck angle , kinda like those pearlys back then.
Will be playing it tomorrow.
Geeze that is a pretty color. I have an affinity for the darker bursts and that guitar tickles my guitar bone! Very, very nice Brother. You did good!:salude:dude:
Thanks fellas. Thats the "Big Indian" on bass LOL. With a nice 72 . I will say that this guitar(R8) is
3x`s the guitar my CC16 is. Very pleased. I had a pic of all the sweat on it. Blurry.
Just to report. Some of you guys know I have a few guitars and try
to play a little, but I have to go on record to say that this 05 R8 is probably the
best guitar I`ve ever played. Combo of things really. Feel, weight/ staying in tune/ sound
I have worn the back finish a tad.

I've never subscribed to the paper spec thing, but I realize it is important for a lot of folks seeking the most accurate build. I have a few Historic Lesters at home and though I do like the more accurate specs of my later built Historics, my absolute favorites to play are my millennials, '99, & '00. They are way out of spec compared to present versions but they play and sound so good too me. That's the crux of the bisquet IMO, how they play and sound. As far as eye candy, it isn't always about flame and figure for me and that one you have, with my favorite Wacky Tobacky color and sweet Eastern Rock Maple top just POPS too my eyes.
I would have jumped on that one with both feet!!! It appears to be in good hands so hip hip hooray! and pass that joint, and enjoy the hell out of it!!! Like the Jimmy Page uncovered bridge pickup, I have one like that myself.:salude:hank:hankeace2
Yeah man Big Al. :yah I`ve let a few go
that I miss. Done that enough to know this stays. I guess I was
feeling melancholy. But it is a really nice guitar. Thanks guys at RGE in Tampa.
