I think I'd be terrified to throw the switch on a $24,000, 44-year-old amp! Cool looking, though.

I think the seller is very misinformed & mistaken when it comes to the amp's orginality! :hmm

Fess up - what's wrong with it then - except for the logo? OT?

a big one is the changed power transformer.

Which was not introduced until 1967, and I guess this would have to be a '65/'66 amp?

And how about the OT, which is not an RS, has neither a Drake number stamp, like the choke (which can occur, but adds here to the doubts). Shiny chassis, battered plexi front, new looking logo and cab...complete lash up? :2cool

Check out the cab, where the wood back panel fits on the Kitchen Marshall too.......only four screws.....see anything suspect with the other four screw holes in the cab?

Those script logo holes have been "used" too, they're clearly not virgin.

I've never seen a real block type logo with round head screws.....and the real screws are hen's teeth rare.

Not convinced that the PT isn't correct.

Wonder where all those PA heads that MG bought went?

The silver logo JTM above the KM head in the small photos in the Doyle book.......that's fugazi too.

Seems like the Kool-Aid's been going around to these guys with their JTM45's? Every one you see on fleaBay's priced off the charts, it's like they're all fishing or something.
I guess it's hard to establish a market value on these amps but I've never seen any of these things sell. If they all cut their prices by at least 50% they might see some action, maybe.

With prices of early '70's Marshall's being so low, that's the place I'd start looking for building a Marshall collection. The best bang for the buck is in those amps right now, some great stuff can be had for way less than a boutique amp.
A friend just bought a '72 50 watt 1987 model a few weeks ago, here at a musician's swap meet in Nashville for $850.00. The amp's all there for the most part, all I had to do was remove a badly engineered master volume, retube it, clean the sockets, clean up some bad soldering, reform the caps and man, that's one musical tone machine... great amp.

A friend sold a really lovely sounding '66 JTM45 script logo, all there, for £2750 last week. That's the right price IMHO.

Thants a great deal for a straight JTM45! I have seen 50 watt JMP's from 68-69, that have sold for more within the past year.

I have seen 1 straight 1966 JTM45 sell for $6700. I thought that was a fair deal.

A couple of other good deals I have seen, have been 1966 Park45's. I have two of these & I will never sell them! There have been 2 floating around that I think can be had for under $5,000.00?
