• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

More guitars added this morning to the The Thinline Site.

This one comes from 58dutchie, and from a recent thread here at the LPF. Beautiful guitar.

I've got the Epi version of the 330:

Poor condition when compared to the one above, but a fantastic player with heaps of mojo and tone.
It's believed to be from 1962 as well.

VERY NICE EARLY SHORT STYLE CASINO.:salude
a very nice player with that Bigsby. The condition doesn't look bad to me...
It's not for museum but a player.

I have a 66-67 Casino like the J.Lennon had.Long headstock and white guard.
You should try to get a guard for your Baby.Unless you don't like them...

Is it short scale? Seems to be the same scale as my other Gibson style guitars...

Yours is the classic Casino! Maybe I will get a guard for it, the holes are there.

The term "short scale" is sometimes (wrongly) used for ES-330 style guitars with the neck meeting the body as per 335 (19th fret) and not classic 330 style (15th fret). But the scale lenght - the distance from the nut to the bridge - is the same (24-3/4") on all 330's, 335's, 345's, 355's, Casino's, Sheraton's... and whatever they are called.

Some early Casinos (and other Epi's as well) alson had a shorter headstock like Paul McCartneys (but NOT John's and George's).

My mistake sorry,I wanted to say short headstock and not short scale.
All Casinos are long - regular scale guitars.
Very similar if not identic to ES330.
Great guitars.

I was sure you meant headstock, Andreja - not scale :) - and yes they are great guitars. I do enjoy my 1960 ES-330 very much (I play it every day..!) it can be seen here: http://www.es-335.net/330/R4290-14.html

BTW Andreja, I'm a big fan of tennis players Ana Ivanovic, Jelena Jankovic and Djokovic all three of them from the good old Serbia :)

Actually it's the (16th fret) that meets the body on '59-'67 330's. :salude

No worries mate!

You had me thinking that you might be a secret Fender freak - "All other scales except full size Fender are short scale" :applaude

Hallo to Troels in Denmark.
A very nice country.I want to visit Christiania all my life...
Your single pu ES330 is a great guitar. They stop them in 63 and they have tone on their own due to the location of the PU.
I am a big fan and collector of ES330.Here is a one of them:

Tell me what you think...

Tennis? well I have very little to say.As we all know Serbia is very small place and those 3 people have managed to be on the top...with all merits I suppose. Besides Ana is a baby...great looking player!!!

"The guitar is original except for the bridge and the tuners which have been changed (but not by me). It also had a refret some time. A couple of sound posts have been set in."

You forgot to mention the non-original truss rod cover, and that the fingerboard has been partly sawn off (but not by any previous owner).

Yes that's right... but I just mentioned the main things. An original ABR-1 brings twice what I paid for the guitar some years ago - and that's probably the reason why somebody pulled it off in the first place... I've been wondering if the TRC was original or not. I've seen very early 330's with that particulat type - or one layer all black as per ES-120 and others. The fingerboard thing is the result of my own "Buzz Feiten-inspired" experiments which wasn't a good idea at all. It may be repaired so that nobody will notice. Another thing is that it has a neck repair which is very well made. The last thing to mention is that the knob pointers are missing. Pots, bumble bee and of course the P90 are all original. But the most important thing is that it sounds amazing. It has such a beautiful sound thru my 70's Super Reverb. It's a player rather than a collectors item - and I do bring it out for gigs very often.

And tuberide, yes it's 16th fret... but actually the area of the body where the neck meets the body is reaching slightly longer out on 330's from 1959 to 1961 - or you can say the body is a bit shorter from 1961 - which moves PU's, bridge and pickguard towards the bottom of the guitar - app. the distance of a top fret - on newer 330's.

Unfortunately I can't open the link - but I'd like to see your guitars. If you come to Copenhagen I'd like to show you Christinia - but you are in a hurry I'm afraid as politicians in DK are working on a plan for "normalizing" this unique area - which means - I personally believe - that it will close down not too far out in the future.
