• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

NAD - 18W TMB Clone Head..

Hi Guys, not been on for ages I hope everyone is good. Went to the Northern Guitar Show at Haydock yesterday and an 18W TMB clone followed me home. It's a turret board build put together by Bluebird amps and I must say I'm pretty chuffed with it to say the least. Currently got it hooked up to a...

    Anyone else running Blackstar?....

I've recently bought a Blackstar HT 40 Club combo with matching 1x12 cab. Liking it a lot. Bigger sound and more versatile than the DSL401, but less focused somehow. Anyway, well chuffed with my purchase just wondered if anyone else has tried Blackstar....

    Thick cutaway binding...

...I was watching TOTP2 on Saturday and they showed some TOTP (Top of the Pops) footage from 1975, the guitarist in 'Kenny' was playing a goldtop deluxe, that looked to have thick binding in the cutaway. I thought that thick binding was introduced later. Any thoughts?? Cheers! Edit - Sorry...

Fitted some new pots and caps....

...to my 02 std. It's a bit of a long story.. When I first got the guitar four years ago, I thought it'd be nice to have speed knobs. Just happened to have a set in the drawer. So I pull off all the knobs and try to replace the bridge tone knob first. Ah I thought, this is a bit tight and...

    Gazza Sells Greeny's Burst....

.... this may be old news, but I just saw it yesterday in Guitarist magazine. Apparently Gary Moore has sold Peter Green's burst to the head of Maverick International for an undisclosed high seven-figure number. Well I suppose the world didn't stop turning, but I for one found it a bit of a...

    Control Cavity - factory wiring

I hadn't taken a good look in the control cavity on my 02 Std since I bought it, that is until last week-end. I can't post a picture just at the moment, but the standard of wiring seems rather poor quality to me. The solder joints are very 'blobby' and untidy. Q. Is this typical for factory...

Marshall 1959 RI and 1959 HW...

My bandmate's cousin sat in on our band practice last night and brought along his 1959SLP re-issue. This was stood on top of and plugged into a pair of original 'vertical' 2x12 Marshall cabs that stand side by side (I've not seen these before). He plays a LP Classic with (I think he said) Duncan...

In the last two weeks my band mate has got his hands on a Mesa Boogie Lonestar and a Bad Cat Hot Cat 50..... I've heard the Mesa, (excellent and different to other Mesa's I've heard), but not the Bad Cat I just hope he doesn't plug a Gibson Les Paul into either of them (he uses a...

Can this be true (fleebay content)?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33040&item=3753867414&rd=1 or is this simply a modern day Classic in a protector case?

Ok guys, what do I have?

This is a view of my Bridge Pick-up cavity. As I read it, the script in the cavity is LP5+. So I think I have a 2002 Standard with a 50's neck. But any idea about the other stuff written in there? Any clues would be cool. Cheers!
