Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hi everyone,
I have been thinking about building a hard case for my lap steel for some time. However, inevitably the inside of the case will be heavy with outgassing and fumes from the adhesives used to hold the lining in.
What adhesive and lining material would you use to not have any finish...
Hi everyone,
Some friends and I are starting an automotive podcast which will primarily be recorded in my apartment. There will be three of us sitting around a table. I have a small mixer board with phantom power if needed. I could use my instrument mics in three stands and record the three...
LPF Exclusive:
In the 'Return of the Les Paul' advertising literature and the Gibson Gazette magazine released in mid-1968, the headstock of the soon to be released Les Paul Standard looks pretty familiar. Pearl inlay with dot over the i in Gibson? Check. Kluson tuners? Check. Blank headstock...

I wanted to ask Progrocker what he thought of my theory below as he knows 1970's logos / volute shapes better than I do...

"The return of the Les Paul Standard and Les Paul Custom guitars marks the inauguration of a new era of collaborations between Les Paul and Gibson. Additional products, resulting from this association are also available. Without doubt, we expect they will contribute as much to the music of...
Recently a kind gentleman out of Norway sent me pictures of his killer, very early LP Personal. I noticed right away that the case was something I had not seen before. Note the special pad built into it. My period literature does not list a separate case model number for the Personal and...
I figured it would be fun to use inflation adjusted figures to see what LSLP's sold for new, but in today's dollars. I will be using some period literature for the list prices. A BIG difference to the bull s$%t, conjured out of thin air, worthless list prices from today's guitar companies...
To any newcomers (as I think I posted this a long time ago),
Thought you might like to see the cleanest LSLP I have ever seen. :) This was sold at Chicago Music Exchange a few years back. Sooooo clean. Link to pictures, info, and video below...
Hey everyone!
And no, not THOSE nuts, your GUITAR's nuts.
My April 69 LPC always felt narrower than my R4, but I measured them and they are exactly the same. I attribute the sensation of it being narrow to the rolled binding, the taper to the neck (unlike my R4 which barely tapers at all)...
Still going to MIA for a few more weeks. Graduating from college and have a new job starting shortly. Have to move too. If anyone has any LSLP questions, please contact me through my website for now. Thanks. :dude:
