• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

  • Hi Emerald, I have been reading many of your posts regarding Gary Moore I wonder if you could help me. In 2007 I had the opportunity to buy one of his amps.

Gak Brighton had 2 JCM 800 1959 MkII 100 Watt heads for sale. one with pencil marks for the amp settings I cheekily asked if they could get Gary to autograph it, which he kindly did.

A few weeks ago I decided to look at the amp and the certificate and to my surprise the it was 12 years to the day that I had bought it. It got me thinking that it is sad that the amp is stored away and that I want to research as much detail as possible to tell the story of the amp.

The amp was used as part of 3 amp set up I think for the After The War Tour (it has the letter R).
It is a 1984 amp that was modded for extra gain by Marshall, with its age I was wondering whether it could be used on the Wild Frontier Tour.

I would be very grateful for any possible information you might have from the era.

    Many Thanks

    Barry
Hi Dave, may I pick your brains on something if you've got a second?

The question is when did Gary get Greeny off Peter.. 1970 or 1971? To add more confusion I always thought it was 69...!!

    Cheers ,

    Paul.
