• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Would/Do You Crown Your LP Frets?

My new Traditional is great in all respects except that the frets are your typical Gibson flat topped frets. With my Fenders and customs, I always have perfectly rounded frets. It's not that they are rough, there not, but just that sharp shoulder you can feel when you slide into notes. How many...

    LP binding colour

Silly question, perhaps. But why do they use the slightly pinky plastic bindings and pup rings on my Traditional? I find the lighter plastic more attractive.

    NGD Les Paul Traditional Desertburst!!!

Just got this. Everything was top notch. My only complaints were they mounted the pickguard so when I removed it, there were holes. The guitar sound great. 8lbs10.5oz for any that care. The pictures are a bit crummy because the sunlight was very bright.

    Real or fake?

Is this a real Les Paul? Bound headstock with the little floral emblem. Les Paul on the truss rod cover. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Gibson-Les-Paul-Standard-Limited-Edition-60s-Neck_W0QQitemZ170210989624QQihZ007QQcategoryZ2384QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

53 GT in Robert Plant's Band

I watched Austin City Limits tonight and the rhythm guitarist was playing a nice 53 GT that looked completely original. Sounded pretty good. It gives one pause to wonder about conversions. Plant was pretty interesting. A mix of Zep and his new stuff.

    Vancouver Historic sale

Long & McQuade on Granville St has a sale on few hsitorics and 1 elegant. They have a nice R8 in Honeyburst for about $400 more than a standard flametop. The also have an OK R9 but it is in the low $5K range. I am not spamming - I don't work for L&M - but these are pretty good prices and...

    Historic with Ben Harper

I saw Ben Harper on ACL last night and his guitarist used a nice LP for a number of songs. It looked like a historic. He played very tastey stuff. Intersting music. I really like Ben's lap steel work.

    1970 Custom Black Beauty

Is a 1970 LP Custom Black Beauty considered vintage? Is it a desirable guitar? Someone is selling one for a reasonable price near me.

    '61 LP Custom

I know that the LP/SG replaced the LP Standard in '61. But I've also read that they made the Custom LP single cut for '61. Do many of these guitars exist? How much are they worth?

    1 pick-up '54 GT

    52 Goldtop rescue candidate

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2550866989 Do you guys think this is real? The price seems reasonable. I don't know why someone would put a fender bridge on it instead of going for a properly installed Gibson stop tail piece conversion. However, this could be an opportunity...
