Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Yeah @S. Weiger. The font is completely wrong on the bridge pickup and I wasn't sure about the other two. They seemed like they might be intentionally cut off. What would you say looks off about the actual pickups?
I just picked up a 52 goldtop and it's 8.4 lbs. I also have a 68 goldtop that's 8.71. I grew up playing 10 lb. + Norlins, so these two feel incredibly light to me. I like both in different ways, but the sub 9-lb. LPs are pretty great.
I'm no @MikeSlub, but here are mine:
1952 Goldtop 8 lbs 4 oz
1956 Alnico Custom 9 lbs
1956 Special 7 lbs 1 oz (I don't think we're counting Specials)
1968 Goldtop 8 lbs 7 oz
1968 Custom #1 9 lbs 7 oz
1968 Custom #2 9 lbs 14 oz
Wow. How's the goldtop with the mojoaxe? That's what I would get.
My dilemma is that you can probably get a pretty stock 52 or 53 for the same price as a refin alnico custom. And both would be amazing to have.
I bet it's amazing. I'm looking at an original 52 with the case and a refin alnico custom (new case) right now. My number 1 is a 50s alnico custom, but it's a refin. The non-mod originals are just out of my reach now.
