• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

So What Is Your Opinion On The 59 Greeny Coming In 2023

Metallica rules.🤘🏽. man sometimes this forum is worse than TGP.. whiny boomers😂 this guitar was not marketed for us who can’t afford it.. plain and simple. I love Peter green and ofcourse gary moore but like it or not Kirk has inspired more people to pick up the guitar than green and moore combined.. if i had Bezos or Musk money i would buy all the burst i can find and burn them or put them in a wood chipper broadcast it on youtube or Facebook just to piss folks here and read their threads about it.. i swear, 20 more years. I have time.. you don’t😂😎🤘🏽
Go and tidy your room, I'll see if I can stay alive long enough to hear it's done.

$15K? For that price point it better wash my clothes, clean the floors, wash my dishes, and take out the trash; and that's just for starters. :D

I have a bit more than $9K invested in my four most expensive flame top guitars that all have 1 piece body backs, and two of those guitars are made with Honduran 'hog bodies & necks, and the fingerboards on these two are Brazilian.
These four guitars are also all different brands so they don't represent any concept of 'brand loyalty.'
The overall quality of these four guitars is also an incredible bargain, particularly considering the price points for each respective example.

I purchase guitars for a combination of top spec attributes combined with price point sensibility.
A $15K guitar brings neither of those concepts to the table. (n)

I would much rather have four LP style guitars for the $9K+ price point than to have one LP with the $15K price point.
I'm not that great at math but in this case I think I'll get a passing grade. :ROFLMAO:

YMMV .......

Time to inform his local authorities on this red flag and hope they can respond before it’s too late.

that wouldn't be very smart if I were a collector and wanted maximum value for my investment

but afterwards, i wouldn't have a problem saying he's not in the same league as Green and Moore. But why would I, there's no point in doing so - just my view

my guess is, you're a Donkey
I actually think Kirk would agree with you that he's not in that league.

Casino Guitars have a friend who purchased, who will visit them with guitar and debrief them on the experience.

BTW they also opine on Kirk's popularity versus prior owners.

I tend to agree with his theory there will be tiers of Greeny guitars akin to Adam Jones.

I am more intrigued by the labeling of these as specific pickups that could be sold in the Gibson Pickup Shop. I'd be willing to experiment with them, assuming reasonable price.

Sell the sizzle, not the steak.
I once saw a guy ask Buddy Guy to sign his guitar.
He said, "I don't mark up no guitar."
Respect for the instrument.
I actually met Peter Green and he signed my guitar, back in '97. Haven't dared play it since, in case I wore it off. Cost me a fortune, as it was my main gigging guitar at the time, so I had to replace it.
Since then, a well known friend of mine offered to sign another guitar for me. He looked a bit disappointed when I politely declined his offer.

As for paying 35 grand to meet a couple of blokes who are only there, because you paid them...?

It looks like they have done a good job with this guitar. i like how they aged the plastics, but it is not new, they already did a great job on the Slash 58 first standard.
I am most concerned about the ML aging continuing to age… on such replica you do not want the looks to change, so maybe the pre ML finish / aging was a better fit.
Whilst a ML ultra light aged + own aging may be best for a regular ML guitar…
I cannot say I do not want one though haha
50k was above what I could justify relative to my income though.
I do like the event concept.

I played a 2022 ML ultra heavy aged tobacco Slash back in early June at Gibson Garage. It’s was nice but the 1st and 2nd frets of high E were dead as a door knob. I was really surprised no one had caught that? I don’t find the feel of a ML to be that superior over a regular guitar. I did prefer the sound of a slash over a 59ML though. But no pick was offered to me and I was playing it through a mesa which I’m no fan of.

Gibson Garage is a nice place? But too expensive. I bought 3 shirts 2 kids hoodies and a magnet for $400. Granted they’re well made but a bit much and they don’t come off MSRP at that garage.

I may get the $15k Greeny model. But it better be leaps and bounds above my TH59 otherwise there’s no point. I’d trade in 2 guitars on it if it’s as good as they’ll lay claim. But I’ll be playing it before I buy it. If it doesn’t sound or play phenomenal? What’s the point?

They did a beautiful job with these and it sounds nice in Trogly's video (which is amazing, as he is a terrible player and makes everything sound bad, LOL) but there's no way in Hell I would ever pay this kind of money for one. I mean, the whole "experience" is just silly to me. I don't get star struck by celebrities and would never in a million years pay to hang out with one. I also hate the concept of guitars as collectibles and not tools. But that's just me.

I don’t care what they say? The Experience was part of the price. Willing to bet at least half the price was for the experience. No you didn’t have to attend, however it it was priced in. They’re not GIVING the buyer a free 1st class airfare, 4 season hotel room, dinner etc. you’re paying for it regardless of whether or not you attend. No way the guitar is more than $25k. Nothing special about it to make it worth $50k. Not to mention for sale at $83k on reverb? Yea ok. You’d have to be full retard to pay that much for it when anyone that pays close to $100k for this? Might as well buy a vintage ACTUAL instrument worth that or more lol

Nice looking guitars no doubt but they will have nowhere near the resale value of the Greeny if that’s even important to to you.

Some jive ass shit. Buddy was being a dick. He signed one of mine and I've seen many more. Only BB King has signed more guitars.
