• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Is it going to be a ka-ching moment Paul.
These are pretty much hand made aren't they.
I'm avoiding buying one for health reasons Steve, Audrey would bloody kill me!!!!

Almost churlish to mention that they're not cheap, this sort of quality simply doesn't rub shoulders with that descriptor.

It knocked my socks off.

Mr Bartel has made something of exquisite quality.

Here's a link that may be of some interest.

Cool!
Is that cab in a front half and back half type of thing? Is that seam just the tolex?
Those chicken head knobs are like the ones on my Matchless. Cool

Oops a Banker photobomb :)

The cab body is a one piece unit Mate, the piping on the front and mid body is just another of those aesthetic design features that are all over this amp.

The baffle though is a whole different thing. Have a look at the heading "Instrument grade cabinetry" in the link I posted above.

The knobs are similar to the crested ones on Matchless, but don't have the sharp edge on the top of the crest, The Bartel are flat - they're almost art deco in their geometry.

The whole thing in person, visually and audibly has such a commanding authority, it really is an amazing piece of equipment. I had two hours with it, and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed by an amp.

I'm picking my moment very very carefully to start mentioning this in "conversation".....:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

"Oh no- I have had this for a while"
That's what I hear when I say "Oh nice shoes" to Mrs Corpse (Imelda).
I actually think Audrey knows more about about this gear than we do Mate....none of the usual stuff works on her, I just get a variation on the withering look...yep, that one.:LOL:

I supposed you've worn out the puppy dog eyes bit, eh?
Well and truly threadbare Guy....that ship sailed many moons ago.

I'll have to find a new and novel way of sneaking up on her. She's like a bloody ninja....

Umm try maybe
"Oh by the way,"
or
"Remember that amp.."
or
"You look radiant today"
or
"If music be the food of love, Bartel hath spoke "
She's wise to me mate, every time I open my mouth on this stuff her eyes narrow more than somewhat.

I'll send her an e-mail, that'll take the wind out of the withering look sails...Ha Ha, I knew I'd come up with a plan.

I didn't say it'd work, but it is a plan.

That's my line back in 2001 when I added a Fender Custom Shop 54 reissue Stratocaster in Aztec Gold and threw her on a stand with the herd and the ole lady didn't notice for over a month or more and I said that old thing has been there forever , and I have had that for a while .
