• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Where was the venue , bizzwriter ? Carter Baron
Native DC boy, still here !
Merriweather Post Pavillion, August '79 I believe. I lived in DC area (NoVA) from '77-'84 -- what an AMAZING music scene at the time. Root Boy Slim, Seldom Scene, Danny Gatton, Slickee Boys, Tex Rabinowitz, etc. etc. etc. Plus I used to take my guitars over to Annapolis so some guy named Paul Reed Smith could work on them. Magic!

I'm inclined to agree. Joni Mitchell is probably the most underrated musician in history.
The way she simply nails "Coyote" on The Last Waltz is remarkable. The playing, the phrasing and the pitch control. None better than Joni. Also this:

And watch this without crying. You can't.

Joni Mitchell has a true artist's mind. She absolutely sees the world from a different viewpoint and has the ability to express that through music. A remarkable person indeed.

I've met a few people like that over the years and in conversations with them and you know they are special. Dave Eggar is like that too.

Bass is my first instrument. So yeah, Jaco! Love that growl of his tone. Stellar concert, watched it many times.
