If you think this guy is lying about the burst, move along, go look for other threads.

This "witch hunt" some of you are trying to pass (clearly mixing the burst and the Martin story to deceive the OP) is pretty petty

What if the OP is lying about the burst? I won't feel deceived. I don't know him, his burst being real or not won't fall in my hands... I couldn't care less if he's making up the story.

Posting pictures on this forum always has been a pain in the ass, I don't really get why. And considering lots of guys here have thrice my age, it doesn't get any easier

Just wait it out. Or not. Spend some time with your wives, go listen to that beano album. Maybe your dog has a rash? Go look into it. Time to paint the porch? Do it.

Just let OP take his time to post his True Historic Story, or maybe work on his novel about this heavenly guitar in a trash bag.

I mean, the mob is even stating the date of creation of plastic bags to discredit the OP :ROFLMAO:. Go paint yours walls and watch it dry out.. Have a drink, cheers!

Fwiw, iirc the OP did not say that the guitar had been stored in a black trash bag for 55 years but rather that it was found in a closet in such a bag. The story is that the OP has no idea how or when the guitar came to be where it was found. As to the bag thing, this thread has forcEd me to learn that indeed there were plastic trash bags even before 1960....

I really cannot believe that you are so taken in by this story that in order to give it some credibility you went to the trouble to research the history of plastic trash bags.

Please tell me that you really don't think he's not lying.

Yes posting pictures on this forum is a pain in the ass. But he did manage to post a picture of a guitar, just not the actual guitar that he's talking about. How does that work then.

Kerryboy, you are misunderstanding whatever interest Inhave here and thereby making some false assumptions. I don’t have a dog in this fight, and I always give ANYONE the benefit of a doubt until things are proven one way or the other....as I gave the person who stated that there was no way that there could have been any plastic bags in existence when this guitar was stashed. However, I am a curious sort. It took all of about ten seconds to learn that those Canadian fellows created the first plastic trash bag in 1950 no sweat at all. In fact, it took, less time than it took your to type your rather snide comment, Brother.
so, one thing has been established...imho. The fact that this guitar was found in a plastic bag in a closet does not in anyway prove anything about this guitar’s history.
fwiw, I have proven a few mistaken identifications. I convinced one I’ll-informed pawn shop that they did not have a 1960 Les Paul. They did not want to accept my observations of the identifying traits of what that had, so I took another tack. I told them that IF they had a real 1960 Les Paul, I would have already paid them the $9500 they were asking for it without a single comment. The next time I saw the guitar, they were asking what it was worth...about $1600.

there were only a few hundred bursts made 60 years ago
out of that tiny number there were some that were beat to crap - others are put away in vaults
many are photographed and publicly known
some are known only to a special inner circle of dealers and rich buyers and never talked about ...... you will never hear about them on a public forum like this one - ever
can you imagine the odds of finding one in perfect condition with case candy sitting un molested for 60 years ?

the story might be true but the shear odds are astronomical

I mean what is the maximum number that could physically possibly exist in this condition which have not been discovered ?

put THAT in your pipe and smoke it !

And....I will admit that the odds are not in favor of this being a real ‘burst that the OP has found, but sometimes betting against the odds makes money, right?

I was on the believer side at first, but I'm starting to seriously doubt the story now...
OP, if you are still reading this: give us some sign of life!

It is certainly possible that such a find can occur. Meanwhile, it’s probably a good practice not to feed the trolls. They love it when people go overboard either with disbelief or complete enthusiasm for the “new find.” They surely find it amusing to see how what they are doing seems to affect some people.

Prove that you have what you are alleging to have or stfu. I’m ok with it either way.
