• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

That Strat was such a cool project! Now that gigs are starting up again I regret selling it too..
The Riviera is even cooler as it’s most probably a one-off, so I hope to hold on to it ;)

Would you prefer a beaten-up '53 with knackered hardware and a nice refin in Dulux emulsion, or the guitar below. (courtesy of Mr Shadows...) ? No brainer IMHO...... :)a17.jpgLP53.jpg

Personally, I'd rather have a nice goldtop than a 3 piece top sunburst. To me it feels the same as putting an M3 logo on your BMW 325 or bragging about a blonde bombshell girlfriend, who's been bleaching her hair since highschool, but to each it's own.

Yep, each to his own I suppose..! :) Can't believe you'd want to spray gold paint all over that beautiful flamed maple though.... And BMWs? No thanks, I'll hang onto my Lamborghini and Ferrari (and 53/59 conversion..!) if that's ok....:)430 + Lambo 2.jpg

Nice pair! Too bad the steering wheels are on the 'wrong' side :)

No seriously, very nice cars! I know you've had some setbacks getting a burst, so I wonder if you're still looking or have you settled with the conversion? (and no, I do not have a burst for sale nor can I afford one :))

Thank you..! Get a Ferrari rather than a Lambo is my advice there... Much nicer inside and to drive. The Lambo is just a brutal racing car..!

The '59 conversion is a stunning guitar in the flesh (Mr Shadows did an amazing job on it..) and it sounds incredible esp at the bridge PAF... (the neck is a '60s PAT). To be honest though, I still struggle with the thick '50s neck (I've got girlie fingers..!) so I'll probably let it go if the right person comes along (ie someone will actually appreciate but more importantly play it..!) :)

Naaah.... that's probably your playing....! ;) ;)
There is a lot of truth in that statement, amigo. not necessarily in my case, but I've seen great players pick up average fiddles, and sound just as good as always.

Oh it's absolutely true..! When Jeff Beck plays a Strat it has a sound of its own..! Likewise Greeny RIP...

Well, FWIW, I got to play greeny about 14 or 15 years ago, just for a few, during which time I shook my head , and even made the happy face while playing it, and still couldn't get the thing to sound like Gary More did

Wow that's cool..! And don't worry, not many people can sound like Gary Moore...! A pretty cool thing happened to a mate of mine in Southend (UK, hello Steve!), who is a big PG & early F Mac fan, too 3 or 4 years ago. I taught him to play guitar many years ago, including a number of F Mac tunes, so I was amazed/delighted/totally astonished when he told me that not only had he just met PG in Southend, but had also jammed some of those F Mac songs with him...! Turns out that Steve's boat is moored right next to a good friend/minder of PG, who said that next time he's in town he'll introduce them.... And he did. And they had a guitar jam in Steve's boat..! How cool is that! And apparently he was still a pretty good player...
RIP Peter Green, all us Les Paul owners owe and miss you...

Wow, what a lovely tone there Mr Shadows..! Must be something about that combination - my 53/59 sounds awesome through my '64 Selmer Zodiac Twin 30...!
Did you decide to take the Bigsby off? If so, a very wise move....! I've still never come across one that stays in tune...
Hope you're well, and busy! :)
