• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hello all. I have a feeling I'm going to have to disappoint an acquaintance as he needs to sell a guitar he owns.
He bought it as a Gibson Les Paul Custom.
The serial number doesn't come up in the online search.
Thoughts please!?
Thx David

Its a "standard" Custom, not a historical reissue. Must be post 2004, cause even the production Customs are made by Custom shop now (the CS prefix in the serial).

Thanks! As the number starts with 9, could it be 2009?

No prob. I don't think there's a search database for custom shop serials like there is for regular production serials(guitardaterproject.org is what I generally use). Basically have to go off serial format and features of the guitar.

If you e-mail Gibson with a photo of the serial number they should be able to give you specific details about what it is (and when it was made).
